I am planning on spending the weekend in Soho and Mayfair enjoying the sunshine and enjoying the moonshine with a trip to some London clubs on Saturday night. Not sure which nightclub I will be frequenting yet but perhaps funkybuddha which is one of my favourites and one of the best clubs in London.

London is incredibly influential as a city and given that something like 30,000 people are searching for a London Blog there is an interest hence we’re deliving what the people want with a London Blog.

A new National Film Centre will be built on London’s South Bank and the Tate Modern as well as the British Museum will each receive funds to support their extensions.

According to BBC News, the Government will give £45m towards the new film centre. The centre will become the new home of the British Film Institute (BFI) and host popular events like the London Film Festival and premieres.

The capital’s Tate Modern which boasts with international modern art will undergo a £215m transformation.

The Government will support the Tate Modern with £50m and the British Museum with £22.5m.

According to John Philpott, chief economist at the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, there was a quarterly increase in part-time employment for women for the three months ending in August.

Mr Philpott suggested that this rise is due to a upturn in part-time employment and temporary jobs, which are often given to female workers. He commented: “Women are the main beneficiaries of a labour market where part-time work is rising while full-time jobs continue to be cut.”

The expert went on to say that the CIPD predicts the rate of male unemployment will exceed ten per cent in 2010.

The pair were first linked after arriving at the premiere of Quentin Tarantino’s new film together in London, in July.

But the British musician – real name Ben Hudson – says they are not seeing each other: “I’ll be honest with you, I’m kind of shy around her.”

They met through mutual friend, hip hop superstar Kanye West and were both recently photographed at a wedding in Venice.

But Mr Hudson says speculation they are getting married is just silly.

Forbidden London Clubs, in partnership with The Motion Group theatre company, are staging an all new theatrical production of Vivienne Westwood’s much publicised manifesto for cultural change, Active Resistance to Propaganda, at one of London’s most versatile venues to hire, Bloomsbury Ballroom, this December.

Andrew Steggall, a close friend of Vivienne Westwood, was approached to be part of the project by young political activist and entrepreneur James WJ Wilson – of Forbidden London – who saw the Director as a natural choice to help bring the production to the stage for the first time.

Andrew met Vivienne in 2003 as he explains: “She saw a production of ‘The Soldier’s Tale’ that I directed at the Old Vic. She’s a great believer in the power of theatre and I, a great believer in the power of Vivienne Westwood, was keen to get to know her.”

He continued: “She was already working on the Manifesto then I think and so I have been aware of its development over some time. Over the last couple of years I have been to a number of readings of it and was conscious of its potential to be at least semi-staged.”

Vivienne Westwood – an active and passionate environmental campaigner for The Prince’s Rainforest Project and the closest thing you will come to a living legend – is best known for her influential work in fashion. Considered by many to be the first lady of punk following the opening, with then partner Malcolm McLaren, of a boutique on Chelsea’s Kings Road (originally named Let It Rock and later Sex, Too Fast To Live Too Young To Die and Seditionaries) now known as World’s End.

The Dame also won the accolade of British Fashion Designer of the year in 1990, 1991 and 2006.

Active Resistance to Propoganda will be performed at London’s Bloomsbury Ballroom on Friday, 4th December.

DJ Danielle Pierson dated 34-year old Jamie – who claims to have bedded more than 100 women – after they met on holiday in Thailand three years ago.

Jamie met pretty Danielle – an up and-coming DJ in her native Sweden – on a beach in Koh Samui, Thailand.

They embarked on a long-distance relationship with Londoner Jamie regularly flying over to Stockholm to visit Danielle.

But four months later the couple called time on the relationship after admitting the distance between them was too much.

He is currently holed-up in the X Factor finalists’ house in North London, where he is sharing a room with rivals Olly Murs and Danyl Johnson.

Owner Mark Fuller, who opened the hotel in the heart of London Soho earlier this year, said he was banning the 12.5 per cent service charge at the hotel and its No.20 restaurant to make bills more transparent for customers and give them the option to pay what they wanted to reward good service.

He said: “Service charges cleverly manipulate prices. You head out with a budget in mind, and it’s blown out of control with an unwanted tax. I want guests of my hotel and restaurant to know what they’ll be paying when they leave.

“There is nothing worse than the bitter taste of a surprise bill. What you see is what you pay at Sanctum. It’s just not Rock and Roll otherwise, and I encourage others to do the same.”

Legislation that came into force on October 1 has made it illegal for restaurants to use tips left for staff to top up wages to the National Minimum Wage. Restaurants and hotels have also been encouraged to sign up to a new code of practice on tipping so staff and customers know where the money they have left is going.
